School of Braja feat. Chrissie Hynde and Kula Shaker

Postby GoogaMooga » 20 May 2022, 06:59

"School of Braja" is a charity CD from 2006; Indian devotional music presented in a beautiful, hardbound, 64-page digibook, with a clear introduction to Sacred Sound. If that sounds too dippy hippy to you, consider that Chrissie Hynde and also Crispian Mills from Kula Shaker are involved. Crispian Mills himself has masterminded and engineered an exhilarating collection of sacred Indian Bhajans, with discreet touches of Western instrumentation. It's East meets West, and it's good for the soul. I always thought Kula Shaker as a band was unfairly maligned back in the 90s, so it is nice to see that Crispian Mills has found other, purer modes of expression.
