Artists you only know one song by

Postby pcqgod » 28 Apr 2022, 05:44

To my knowledge I've only ever heard "Red Red Wine" by UB40.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

While it would be inaccurate to say the list is endless, but it's certainly bloody long:

Mr. Bloe: Groovin' With Mr. Bloe
Thunderclap Newman: Something in the Air
John Kongos: He's Gonna Step on You
C Duncan: Garden
The Big Six: 20th Century Boy
Matt Berry: Like Stone
Jeff Simmons: Lucille Has Messed Up My Mind

and many, many more, including all the usual one hit wonders.
Bugger off.

Dominique by The Singing Nun,
And of course I've still never knowingly heard Radiohead. Or Ed Sheeran (except in GoT).

I'm surprised by UB40 - the wankers were ubiquitous over here for years, several number ones I think. I congratulate pcqgod on his good fortune.

Please elaborate for me Ray

I agree with Johnny about Thunderclap Newman - it’s a good album.

The Norman Greenbaum album is excellent

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Jo Jo Gunne yet….

Interestingly, there may be some ‘big’ bands who had a hit out of the blue. - (I’m thinking Yes and the South African fellow and the general public not going anywhere else…)

Ok, that one is a bit less likely but Rare Bird’s Sympathy….?

You're right John. I know January, but I didn't know it was by Pilot. Don't know the other one, and I don't know the John Miles song you mentioned.

I think it might have been playing when I went ten pin bowling. Although I seem to remember seeing the video so I could be wrong.
