Okay, I'll get it off my chess, as much as I love this album I and many many other fans consider the debut to be (even) better

I don't know what you folk think....

Terrific.

I must remind you of this (from a previous Strawbs PSL:

In 2004 I went to see a Strawbs 'Homecoming' show in Teddington (within walking distance of Strawberry Hill - at the National Physics Laboratory!

It was a tiny gig - Acoustic Strawbs. They did two long sets. After I had a long drink with Dave Cousins and he pointed out everyone who was there from previous lineups.

As I was new to the band, he took me through their history and recent releases, and signed the CDs I brought along, as did the other two - the ones they played on.

My fave is Hero and Heroine, but I love this one playing.

Here are photos of the performance:

http://www.strawbsweb.co.uk/live/0401/ab_tedd.asp

Jut to add, I met him because I took along a few CD inserts to get signed if possible. I asked the band to sign in between sets, but they were very distracted tuning the instruments which were just back from a North American tour and were playing up, so they all said 'maybe later'.

After, DC found me out and apologised, saying they were worried about the rest of the show, and he bought me a drink and signed everything. He talked about the early years of the band (and Sandy Denny) and pointed out various members who had come along for the special event - I am not sure if Tony Hooper was there.

Incidentally, the late Ron Chesterman was with Cousins in the original Strawberry Hill Boys

A nice player - lovely tone

By the way Zap passed his grade 5 double bass with merit this week
