I really like the Turtles.
This is live recordings isn’t it C. from 1970? Wish I could get into FZ sadly, I appear to be immune.

I've given up on the incessant ZFT releases. The Hot Rats set was interesting but its not something I would play on a regular basis.

Did you buy it lad?
I agree re: ZFT releases - 'Only in it for the Money' comes to mind
That Mothers 1970 is not great - interesting but that's about it.
I see the next Halloween box is coming out 2nd Oct.
1981
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Halloween-81-F ... 501&sr=8-1
With mask and cape etc....!
Who need that rubbish?
And Amazon are selling at £109....!
That's approx 18 quid per CD!!
Thank god for Qobuz!

I didnt buy it, some guy that had difficulty dancing suppressed that cough.
I did buy the Lumpy Money and Light Meat sets. Again they were interesting but they aren't my go-to's when I want to listen to some FZ.
Although at the moment I'm in a fallow period with Frank at the moment.

Re: Zappa Cubbyhole
I personally definitely got my money's worth and then some out of The MoFo Project/Object, Lumpy Money, Greasy Love songs and Meat Light. (That's "my period," obviously. I'll take as much of that as they'll dole out.) I enjoyed The Hot Rats Sessions and will surely return to it. I've bought 1970 but haven't dug in yet.
I doubt it will happen, and I'd be surprised if any of you are with me on this, but I would enjoy a collection of his pre-Mothers orchestral music. There's a bit of it out there in bootleg-land, but I know the ZFT is sitting on more...

Yes lad, I have both of those sets.
I tend to avoid them though - there is just too much music which I play once and then archive.
I can never be far from listening to Zappa.
In addition One Size Fits All and Overnite Sensation over the last couple of days.
Wonderful albums

Well, as much as I love his sixties stuff, I'm basically a 1972-1978 guy, so I gleefully bought the New York and both Roxy sets.
And Frankly , they don't add much - they're nice to have but ultimately unnecessary.
And I love Flo & Eddie, but Chunga's Revenge, 200 Motels, Fillmore, Just Another Band, Playground Psychotics and the bits an bobs on YCDTOSA are really all I need.

Re: Zappa Cubbyhole
Twas ever thus, really, C.
I’ll get it all, bar the Halloween jumble.
I’ll get the highlights disc, as I did for the others.
Maybe...I’ll get the digital downloads of the rest.
