...you never play them anymore. Because...you know them by heart.
But sometimes it's a bright idea to play them again after years of neglect.
Example:
Probably his best on the shorter songs. Although I have a soft spot for Band of Gypsys.
What album are you going to dust off and give another proper listen?

Just last night I was thinking I should give The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars a spin.

I found a fantastic download of the mono version - a vinyl rip, but you'd never know it - and (obviously) listened to it recently, for the first time in quite a while. Glorious!

Oh ,wow! That's weird. Same here.
I have literally spent the week just randomly pulling records/cd's out of their homes and playing them. I mean I bought them once so I must have digged them once , you know?

All the albums I know by heart are the albums I love and are most attached to and will always play them.
I once started a thread on here many years ago wondering if there were albums that people loved so much that they wouldn't overplay them in case they lost their love for them - didn't get many replies. For that very reason I don't overplay the albums I love the most.

Interesting.
The albums I really love I never tire of and can play any time with no fear of ever getting tired of them
Santana's Abraxas, Tull's Thick as a Brick, Young's After the Goldrush, Camel's Mirage, Caravan's Grey & Pink, Soft Machine's Third, TD's Phaedra, Fairport's Full House and Zappa's Hot Rats immediately come to mind

Played it to death through the years, know it like the back of my hand, never listen now but should. 50th anniversary vinyl edition upcoming, got the 20th and 40th anniversary, the 50th adds nothing to those, shall pass on that.

The only album I have ever played over 100 times is Santana's "Shango". I know, it's not even their best, but it's the one that made me a superfan when I was young.
