I think 'Dead Souls' is in my top three JD songs. Top 2 even?

But can you imagine they had 'Dead Souls' when they recorded the album, but decided to close the album with this instead?

A brave, and wise choice. 'Dead Souls' is better as a stand-alone track, and would have actually made for a different ambience to the album - more triumphant.

I might do my own version of this album with the 12" version of 'She's Lost Control', and 'Dead Souls' replacing 'I Remember Nothing'.

Just to see, like.

Magazine for one and the great JD the other

I wouldn't class either of them as punk, far too much music!!

They are the start of post-punk. With Public Image and The Fall.

I toast you all with iced tea and spiritual hugs.

Aww, crap, I was going to do this one but got pissed off with lockdown pt2 and wandered around outside for a while.

Guess I'll have to wait for the next album I actually own, in 2087.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Thanks, kath, I forget I am Yaphet Kotto sometimes. A belated happy birthday to your daughter, too, my life is undoubtedly poorer for never having known her.
