Indoor flea market today. Over 140 stalls, and only one good seller of CD and DVD.

I got 11 CDs and 1 DVD for a fiver:

G Love & Special Sauce - Electric Mile (Okeh)
Vera Lynn - The White Cliffs of Dover (Decca Eclispe remaster, annotated)
Thin Lizzy & Philip Lynott - The Danish Collection (2 CD slim, Universal)
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Rahat (Rick Rubin prod., Columbia)
Bobby Vinton's Greatest Hits (Curb)
Stevie Wonder - Natural Wonder (2 CD slim, live, Motown)
Cypress Hill - s/t (Cypress Hill)
Elton John - 21 at 33 (scarce?)
ELO - Zoom /(Jeff Lynne prod., Epic)
Mary Chapin Carpenter - time*sex*love* (Columbia)
Cypress Hill - Stoned Raiders (Columbia)

I am not sure about the G Love, doesn't leap at you. Rapping is good, though, but the singing, meh.

Can
Captain Beefheart
Beatles
Fall
Velvet Underground

No CDs today, but I did get a lovely Taschen coffeetable book on the movies from my favorite decade, the 1950s. Richly illustrated and covers 100 masterpieces. Mine for £6, amazons for £80.

They have different language versions on sale at varying prices, but you may be right. Worth it, even at list price.

A couple of weeks ago I found an EX condition single by an Australian punk/metal band called Invader, 'Don't Blame it On Me' / 'Anastasia' from late 1980. My friend Tim who owns his own record shop tells me it's renowned as a punk rarity and last time he sold it he made USD $700. My copy cost me a dollar.

Then I went back a week later and found another copy in even better condition. Nuts.

I do that with comics - the European graphic albums. Buy them for 50 p or £1 in good nick and trade them in for £3 - 5, or even more. Helps finance that hobby.

I do the same, I buy doubles of good records and books I already own or don’t need and trade them for stuff I want. Or just give them to friends. Helps keep this collecting hobby/addiction manageable.

Before I start another week of scoring, it's time to take stock of what the past week has netted me. It's been a biggish week, this can't possibly go on...

pharrell williams feat. jay-z - frontin' (CD single)
kylie - love at first sight (CD single)
the ventures collection (castle)
jesper thilo & the american stars vol.2 (storyville)
frank sinatra - sinatra & company
stan getz plays jobim: the girl from ipanema (all the jobim recorded by getz on one CD)
frank sinatra - everything happens to me
frankie laine - i believe 20 all-time greats (prism leisure)
the incomparable tony bennett with the count basie orchestra (prism leisure)
the incomparable perry como 20 outstanding classics (prism leisure)
the very best of howard keel and i love you so (prism leisure)
shaggy - lucky day
save the last dance ost (one track by notorious b.i.g.)
the complete bob marley & the wailers 1967 to 1972 vol.3 (incl.tracks previously unreleased outside of jamaica)
rocky III ost
warren g & nate dogg - regulate (CD single)
edie brickell - picture perfect morning
3T - brotherhood
kristian jørgensen quartet feat. monty alexander - meeting monty
mariah carey - charmbracelet
britney - the singles collection (incl. one new single)
the very best of funky divas (2CD slimline, slipcased)
diana ross - motown's greatest hits
the great benny goodman (goldies)
brian mcknight - from there to here 1989-2002
good time gold a time to remember (2CD slimline, time-life)
chet baker - inspired by the motion picture let's get lost (giants)
az yet - s/t
gregory abbott - shake you down (sony music collector's choice)
kylie - aphrodite
vh1 divas live 99
coming on strong the rock collection vol.3
the best of tracey ullman (metro)
lisa nilsson - hotel vermont 609
the very best of sheryl crow

The big find, of course, is that French Bob Marley CD, feat. previously unreleased and previously unreleased outside of Jamaica. Don't know how many vols. that series runs to, or if I'll ever find the other ones. I was also well pleased with the Gregory Abbott. 3T are an easy target, but Michael is on there, and I need it all.
