I can Chris, played Wizard the other day, just an awful cacophony of unrelated sounds - as I said, it makes Trout Mask sound like easy listening.

Sadly, you've chosen his most inaccessible album. a bit like someone asking "Have you heard any songs by Yes, and being handed Relayer.

Listen to the two Sugar tracks - that's proper music

Go to Amazon.co.uk, choose CDs and Vinyl, type in Jethro Tull - Warchild II and, Bob’s your uncle, there it is on CD, (just done it). It even comes up if you just type in Warchild II.
.
Nope. I must be going mad
I've done all that umpteen times and I can still only see vinyl - even on eBay
I give up!
Can you send me the precise link please Rob

Re: REAP CORNER
If you look for the Warchild II album on Amazon UK, the vinyl version pops up.
The page suggests there's a CD version fpr Pds Stlg 6.98.
Clicked on it and a 2002 release of the old Warchild appears.
But it's 2 CD;'s with 17 tracks, so there must be a lot of different shit on it, possibly the elusive II.
This is a comment from one of the punters on the page:

Not my favourite Tull album, but still good and nice to have a cleaned up remix of it. Bought it more for the second CD of what could be called "War Child 2" and especially the excellent "Warchild Orchestral Recordings". Good value as with all these Jethro Tull Anniversary editions as it comes with a great little booklet of information and photos. Very slick.

Yes, that’s what I get, obviously Rob sees something different

No such thing as ‘proper music’ C., - remember what Frank says, something which you frequently remind us about.

You’ll just have to buy the LP then C. although I think you said you’ve already got hold of the CD from eBay.
It was originally released as part of the second CD in this set:
Would have thought you would have snapped this up C. Pretty sure it was going cheaply during the Black Friday hullabaloo.

I’ve got this as well Chris as well as two or three others, Todd, Healing, Hermit and a 2CD Best Of, all bought very cheaply but none of them do anything for me. I saw somewhere in some book or other that he was a recommended artist to investigate but as yet I have been unable to find much worth persevering with but every now again I’ll give him another try.
It doesn’t seem to be just me who’s not very keen, he hasn’t sold many records. Hasn’t he been more successful as a record producer?

Re: REAP CORNER
One of those albums that was all over the end of year best albums lists. Bought it on the strength of that and I liked the cover. One of those waves of shimmering sounds bands which could send you to sleep and then wake you suddenly.
This is pleasant enough, quite like it.
Edit - gets a bit monotonous and boring, somewhat like ambient nonsense really.

I like them well enough, but when Jason's songs are based around the same two or three chords, it is bound to get samey

Some of the music from my early teens, music was hugely important to me then, as it still is. It became even more important once I went to boarding school and all we had was Pick of the Pops on a Sunday afternoon and, a little later, a pretty crummy record player.

A good band but Spacemen 3 we’re far superior

Playing "America" was the nearest a teenage me came to being a rebel. I also wore, as everyone else in our class did, a "Free Angela Davis" badge, but she could have been a member of the Vandellas for all i knew. Ah, music and school days. We had the soul boys in one corner, the heavy rock in another, the pop chart fans in corner 3 and the "odd" ones in corner 4, the kind who would carry around a BST album one day, and Family the next.

Sunny, Californian music for a dismal, stormy, windy day.
This record will always be somewhere in my favourite top 25 albums. Time hasn’t diminished its sheer musical quality and class. One of my most played albums.

One of those rare occasions where I remember exactly where I was when I first heard a particular record. Making way home with friend who said he'd just bought this album by a new band and would I like to nip in and listen to it. His front room, sun shining through the patio windows...."It's getting to the point ....." what a glorious sound, beautiful harmonies......"chocolate brown canary......" the album cover ....hey, I know him, he used to be in the Hollies and that chap with the moustache and unkempt tangled long hair. ...is he on drugs ????? He looks stoned, anyway. Fabulous memories, fabulous music..... bought the album that same weekend, and, as with you, Rob, one of my most played albums, originally on my pride and joy, the mighty, stereo !!!! Fidelity hi fi

Don’t forget the bloke from Buffalo Springfield
A superb album but I prefer Déjà Vu
